SECURITY Alert For The Peninsula, Bay Area Residents

SECURITY Alert For The Peninsula

When we live in a nice neighborhood, we can sometimes get very comfortable with our environment, and stop doing some simple things, like lock our doors and windows and other things.  But sometimes our comfort levels can lull us and betray us. Case in point, is this San Mateo County alert that was sent out from the Sheriff's Office today in my inbox.  You might want to take heed:

"The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is alerting the community to a marked increase in the number of burglaries occurring throughout the Peninsula, south of Highway 92. The crimes are occurring in all Cities and Unincorporated areas of San Mateo County. The individuals are entering through unlocked doors, windows and garages. They also use the tactic of knocking on the front door to see if anyone is home, before breaking into the residence. The Sheriff's Office is also asking the community to be vigilant with locking their residences and reporting any suspicious persons, vehicles or circumstances to 911, especially any unknown individuals knocking on their front door. The Sheriff's Office is taking measures to protect the community and ask for its assistance in stopping these crimes."

It's never too late to start practicing good security practices!
