Despite the obvious, the actual hazard here is that the front fork can come off, posing a separate fall hazard other than the obvious!
They've had 13 reported incidents.

Apparently a piece of the mixing blade can break and come off, posing a hazard.
The recall involves Calphalon XL 9 speed blenders, model 1832449, also identified as model ME600BL.
