When anything gains momentum and popularity it's inevitable that the dark murky ilk of society will show up. Catalytic converters are a great example where the dark underbelly of humanity is crawling under SUV's and cutting away the converters for the precious metals in them. Hence, some places are now selling and installing security gear to protect your catalytic converter.
